Aberdeen Performing Arts are looking for submissions of short scripts, spoken word, poetry, new music and comedy for their Spring Awakenings Scratch Night in April.

Spring is stirring, new life is bursting into the world and it’s time for another of our infamous Scratch Nights.

If you are starting out as a writer or musician, finding your voice in spoken word or seeking your first comedy slot, our regular Scratch Nights are the step up and the stage you are looking for.

Submit your short scripts, spoken word or new music all inspired by spring awakening and join us for a night of new talent and new work.

They welcome submissions from Scotland, the UK and internationally and are chosen primarily based on quality and relevance to the theme but priority is given to submissions from the North-East of Scotland, in line with APA’s aim to support local artists. If you are a local artist please highlight this in your email application.

Scripts must be no longer than 10 minutes long and written for between one and three characters. If you are a spoken word artist or an up and coming musician or comedian, please submit samples of the work you are interested in performing. Chosen pieces will be rehearsed in the day and performed on the evening of the 3 April at The Lemon Tree, Aberdeen.
