Jo our CEO has been awarded a place on the prestigious Saltire Fellowship which runs from September 2018 until March 2019. This 6 month world class executive leadership development programme is run by Entrepreneurial Scotland, and invests in leaders who want to expand their thinking. It’s an experiential programme run by experienced business leaders who provide teaching based on their real life experiences.
Jo will spend 2 months in the US, at Babson College before heading to Silicon Valley and Babson College San Fransisco for a 2 week learning journey.
On her return Jo will assimilate her learning into The Touring Network, whilst continuing her studies at Strathclyde Business School for the second module form January – March 2019.
There will be a wide range of business sectors represented in the programme, with a focus on seizing opportunities, thinking differently and thinking beyond geographical boundaries.
Jo speaks on her inclusion in the programme:
“I applied because we need fresh thinking and fresh approaches for the challenges we face. I’m also excited to be contributing to Scotland’s entrepreneurial leadership. It’s really important that the arts and culture sector are included in these conversations on an equal footing. I’m interested in learning from other sectors and adapting that learning to the needs we have, as well as recognising that we have lots to give back. It’s definitely a two-way thing”
This opportunity would have been impossible without the support of both Entrepreneurial Scotland and Creative Scotland.
The programme schedule means that Jo will unfortunately not be present at The Gathering for the anniversary special. However the Board and Team are delighted to step in to cover and plans are in place while Jo is away.
Jo will be writing a blog while she’s on the programme, so if you want to find out what she’s up to, watch out for links from our noticeboard.
Good luck Jo!
