James Lindsay (Breabach) and his band

Strand is the new album from genre-hopping bass player and composer James Lindsay. Known as an in-demand session musician as well as full-time member of Breabach this will be his debut release as composer and band leader. A darkly atmospheric blend of instrumental folk and contemporary-jazz featuring a group of some of the top cross-genre players in Scotland.

Melodic elements inspired by the folk tradition are placed within unusual harmonic and rhythmic settings whilst Improvisations weave in and out of intricately composed passages and surging grooves.
