Shona Cowie: An Evening of Christmas Tales & Song

Shona is a bright, occasionally explosive, new voice in Scottish storytelling whose highly physical style and knack for facilitation has taken her around the world uncovering, gathering and sharing remarkable stories. She was a family story guide in the Musee du Louvre, Paris, ran story education company Fosforo, in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has travelled with her collective Senza across Europe and Tunisia to research and platform stories of Mediterranean migration.

Since moving home to Scotland in 2017 she joined European leaders in applied storytelling The Village Storytelling Centre, with whom she won a Scottish Civic Trust award in recognition of exceptional work with young people, has run pioneering projects in the care and recovery sectors and became one of Glasgow Life’s 2019 Artists in Residence. She is dedicated to living heritage and bringing front and centre those who have been pushed aside in the telling of our stories.
