Inner Sound from the Isle of Skye will be performing Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘The Gondoliers’.
The story opens in Venice and revolves around two handsome gondoliers (Marco and Guiseppe) who choose sweethearts from among the many adoring local girls. However it appears that one of the gondoliers is actually the son of the wealthy King of Barataria and therefore heir to the throne. He had been kidnapped as a baby…………..the only person who knows which gondolier is the true heir to the throne of Barataria is Inez, the boy’s childhood nurse.
Inner Sound, the area’s legendary Gilbert and Sullivan opera company, bring back their acclaimed production of ‘The Gondoliers’, last seen in 2008. With some young semi-professional singers and a highly trained chorus of locals, Inner Sound is the only group regularly bringing quality G and S shows to the north of Scotland.
