We’re offering one of our promoters an exciting all-expenses paid trip to Canada to attend Contact East (http://www.contacteast.ca) in September 2018!

We have been building a relationship over the last couple of years with Laurie Gillis, the CEO of Atlantic Presenters Association (http://www.atlanticpresenters.ca) Canada’s equivalent of The Touring Network in the four Atlantic Provinces; Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. While on a much bigger geographical scale, they are similar in that they support promoters (or presenters)  to enhance, promote, and facilitate diverse, quality live performances, and to provide an exchange of best practices and ideas.

Contact East is a 4 day showcasing event, with more focus on music programming than theatre. This year the event is being held in St Johns/ Newfoundland and Labrador from Wed 19 – Sun 23 September.

Your flights, accommodation and some meals will all be paid for and included as part of your delegate pass. We will also be able to provide you with a daily allowance to cover the cost of any other meals and expenses.

There will be delegates from other UK rural schemes attending too, who will be looking to programme interesting acts to come to the UK, so all-in-all a great opportunity to network!

Jo attended Contact East in 2016 and Rhiannon attended in 2017, read what she had to say about the event here:

“My trip to Contact East last year was really eye opening – not only did I get to see a variety of great Canadian showcase acts, but it was also great to see how other touring networks operate across the world. The stand out showcase performance for me was Blindside by Stephanie Morin Robert – she had me crying with laughter with her 5 minute show excerpt! I’m really pleased to see that she’s touring to the UK next Spring too, and her show is part of our Supported Programme.

This really is a fantastic opportunity – I’d highly recommend it!”

Now it’s your turn!
