Thanks to funding from Creative Scotland and the Young Start programme, we are excited to announce that our much anticipated youth promoter scheme will launch in the new year.

Volunteer promoters play a vital role in the programming and presentation of high quality performance in even the most remote regions of the Highland and Islands.  The Touring Network is ensuring the sustainability of this important part of rural cultural life by offering 20 young people each year the opportunity to become confident and knowledgable promoters.

The pilot programme will run for 2 years and as well as training in skills relevant to promoting, the young promoters will be paired with an established promoter, who will act as their mentor. The project will culminate in a Highland tour of exceptional quality – programmed and promoted by the young promoters.

If you are a promoter within The Touring Network and would like to be involved as one of the mentors in this programme, drop us a line – perhaps you’re keen to include the younger generation on your committee, or would like to widen your audience to include young people? Being involved in the scheme will help you do just that.

We are in the final stages of recruiting a Project Coordinator for this position. Stay tuned for a very exciting announcement.

If you are a young person who is interested in taking part in Get In, fill in this short form and we’ll be in touch with more information soon.
