Dear Promoters,

I was delighted and honoured to take over as Chair of The Touring Network in December.  Since then I have chaired my first board meeting, had several meetings with Jo and Rhiannon and attended a training event on equality, diversity and inclusion.  However the highpoint so far, was the time I spent in Ardfern at the Spring Gathering.  It was a great event and we have had some excellent feedback.  I was struck by how welcoming the whole event was.

For those who could not make the Gathering – and as a reminder to those who were there – during my period as chair I am very keen to see as much work as possible and visit Promoters across the Network. I’m just home after a trip to Skye to see Red Note Ensemble’s Reels to Ragas, promoted by SEALL – it was a great night at Sabhal Mor Ostaig.

Feel free to contact me directly about any special events you have on but in the meantime, I urge you to update the Tourbook diary with details of your programme.  Your events will then be listed on our public-facing What’s On guide.

The good news also is that an updated version of Tourbook is shortly to be launched. This latest iteration will address many of the issues you have raised, and will make it much easier for us to highlight some of the shows that are eligible for support, and which I hope will appeal to you and your audiences.

Thanks again for the welcome at Ardfern and good luck with the season ahead.

Best wishes

Christine Hamilton
