As many of you will know, Creative Scotland’s Multi-Year Funding decision has been delayed until the end of January as a result of ongoing uncertainty about their funding from Scottish Government. We’re working hard to ensure as little impact as possible for members and the team. How is the delay and uncertainty affecting you? Come along and chat to us and fellow members at a Network Meet-Up or our AGM.
In happier news, we made a short film about our first micro-network in the Highlands. See how working with other promoters/venues can help build sustainable tours, as well as your audiences and confidence. Big thanks to everyone who took part: Ardross Village Hall; Applecross Village Hall, Cromarty Arts Trust, Eden Court Theatre & Cinema, Nairn Community & Arts Centre; Resolis Arts; Frankie Morrow; Stafford Collett Productions and Jasmin Vardimon Company. Watch film.
It’s been great to hear how the above promoters are continuing to work together after the project. We know this approach works and we’re keen to keep the momentum going. So, we’re now looking for a new group of promoters, anywhere in the Highlands & Islands, to take part in round two and create their own magic. Do you want to see better-routed tours? Would you like funding to cover costs and pay artists a fair fee? Could you use a supportive network of people like you? Apply here. Deadline 14 October.
You can hear from the micro-network in person at this year’s AGM on Tue 5 November at Nairn Community Centre. Please join us for food, chat and reflection as we look to the year ahead. Sign up here.
The Programming Pot is currently plentiful and supporting live performances all over the region. This quarter we have made seven awards, reaching audiences in Argyll & Bute. Moray, Highland, Orkney and Perth & Kinross. £3,700 was awarded, with 435 projected ticket sales and £9,530 projected to be paid to performers. We had budgeted to spend £5000 this quarter so we have more money to roll over. Thanks to all the promoters who have been able to top up our pot using a portion of profit from ticket sales – so far this year £881 has been added, increasing funds for everyone else.
