Traditional Culture – Stories – Art – Fun & Gathering People in the North
This is the most northerly Storytelling Festival on the mainland of Scotland – come and visit the festival and have the bonus of seeing spectacular scenery and historic archeological sites scattered everywhere up here – even with all the windfarms they are building and planning.
We are based in a small traditional style hall (Melvich Village Hall – check for us on Facebook) in the midst of the traditional fishing and crofting villages of Portskerra and Melvich with a fabulous background of traditional stories and Gaelic /Norse culture and ceilidhs, music, song and edged by glorious fishing and surfing beaches and the sea. The main annual festival events happen in conjunction with the Scottish International Storytelling Festival based in Edinburgh. Our festival this year runs Oct 30th – November 2nd, 2014.
