We are now open for applications from performers to showcase at this year’s Gathering, taking place on Fri 9 & Sat 10 May in Strathpeffer.
Each year, we bring promoters and performers together, along with producers, funders and other creative professionals, to network, share and showcase new work.
This is a chance to get your work in front of promoters and venues from across the region. Discover hidden corners of the country, meet new people and perform in the most beautiful and unique spaces.
Are you a professional performer who is:
- Tour ready?
- Available to perform live on Fri 9 or Sat 10 May 2025?
- Available to tour the Highlands & Islands in 2025 or 2026?
This year, The Gathering will take place at Strathpeffer Pavilion. During the event, a handful of acts will perform a 15-minute, low-tech excerpt / stripped back set of their tour-ready, small-scale work. Those performers invited to showcase at the Gathering will receive the following:
• A pass to attend The Gathering
• Pre-event technical support from our Showcase Stage Manager
• Access to a green room before and after your performance slot
• 15-minute showcase slot, with a personal introduction from someone in The Touring Network
• A further five minutes to pitch your show or take questions from the audience
• Your Tourbook profile shared with all attendees
• Opportunity to network with promoters and venue representatives throughout the programme
• Showcase fee to cover costs

A showcase slot won’t guarantee future bookings* or funds for the performers. However, if any promoters in our network wish to book one of the showcasing acts, they will be invited to apply to our programming pot to help cover performer fees.
*Whilst we cannot guarantee tour bookings as a result of the showcase, 83% of the performers who showcased at the 2018 Gathering have since toured the region.
For those performer members who aren’t quite ready to apply to showcase, there will be a separate opportunity at the event to share your work more informally as a ‘wee turn’. We’ll share more on that nearer the time.
