Congratulations to Heather Marshall, one of our BRAW artists who has just won a Local Hero award in Edinburgh! Well deserved recognition for her community work in Leith.

Edinburgh Evening News Local Heroes Awards sponsored by Farmer Autocare, aim to shine a light on those in the Capital whose bravery and hard work has gone unnoticed.

Among the winners recognised as “Community Champion” is Heather Marshall, of Creative Electric and one of our artists part of our BRAW project (in collaboration with Birds of Paradise Theatre).

“Heather has continually used her voice to promote the idea that living with mental health problems is not something to be ashamed of, and that it is in fact a whole lot healthier to be honest about it, talk about it, and find ways to cope with it using the help of friends, family and professionals.”
