Duncan MacInnes
Based in HIGHLAND
In 1990 I evolved from being a Countryside Ranger on Skye to helping establish rural promoting in venues on Skye. I established SEALL in 1991 and until I retired in 2019 I had helped promote almost 2,000 events in 60 venues. These were either individual gigs or under the banners of Fèis an Eilein/the Skye Festival; The Skye World Music Festival; the Skye Jazz Festival. In 2018 I founded the SEALL Small Halls Festival. I was involved in the early days of rural touring in the Highlands and Islands and was a founding Director and Administrator of the Promoters Arts Network which evolved into the Touring Network. I sat on various Arts Council funding boards and wrote the 'Don't Panic Book' for local promoters. Then they gave me an MBE. It has been fun.
