Membership Terms and Conditions 

Effective Date: Jul 1st 2025

By becoming a member, you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions, which govern your access to our services, community standards, decision-making processes, and cancellation rights.

1. Membership Services
As a member of The Touring Network, you gain access to the following benefits:

  • Professional Development: Access to training, workshops, and networking events.
  • Promotion and Visibility: Opportunities to be featured on our platforms and in our communications. Please note that the use of our “What’s On” listings is subject to our separate Listings Policy.
  • Funding and Support: Eligibility for select funding programmes, advice, and resources.
  • Representation and Advocacy: Inclusion in collective advocacy efforts supporting touring arts in rural and remote areas.
  • Member Directory Access: Ability to connect with other members through our digital directory.
  • Digital Tools: Use of online platforms and tools provided for collaboration and promotion.The scope of services may evolve over time; members will be notified of material changes.

2. Eligibility
Membership is open to individuals and organisations involved in touring performing arts, including promoters, performers, venues, and producers, primarily across Highlands, Argyll & Bute, Moray, Orkney, Shetland, Western Isles, the Clyde Isles and Perthshire.

You must provide accurate, up-to-date information during the application process and maintain it throughout your membership.

3. Values and How We Work
The Touring Network is guided by a commitment to collaboration, inclusivity, and support for rural touring arts communities. We work collectively to:

  • Build strong, sustainable relationships across the sector.
  • Promote open communication and transparency in all activities.
  • Encourage mutual respect, creativity, and professionalism.
  • Ensure there are opportunities and resources that are accessible to all members.By joining, you agree to uphold these values in your participation and engagement with the network.

4. Voting Rights and Participation
Members have the right to:

  • Participate in decision-making processes affecting the network as outlined in our governance structure.
  • Attend and contribute to member meetings, workshops, and forums designed to shape the network’s direction.Further details on participation and voting procedures will be communicated separately.

5. Code of Conduct
The Touring Network is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment for all members. By joining, you agree to:

  • Act with Integrity: Be honest and transparent in all interactions.
  • Promote Respect: Treat all individuals and organisations with respect, regardless of background, identity, or beliefs.
  • Uphold Professional Standards: Avoid misconduct, misrepresentation, or behaviour that could damage the reputation of The Touring Network or its members.
  • Abide by the Law: Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your work and engagement.The Touring Network reserves the right to investigate complaints and, where necessary, take action including suspension or termination of membership. 6. Membership Fees

Membership fees (if applicable) will be clearly stated upon joining or renewal.

Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of The Touring Network.

Failure to pay fees within the stated deadline may result in suspension or termination of membership benefits.

To make our services more accessible to our region, on occasion Membership fees may be waived at the discretion of our membership team

7. Duration and Renewal

Membership is typically valid for 12 months from the date of approval.

Renewal notices will be issued before the expiration date.

Members must renew their membership by submitting any required information and payment.

8. Right to Cancel
Cooling-Off Period

New members may cancel their membership within 14 days of acceptance for a full refund, provided no significant benefits have been used (e.g., access to exclusive events, funding, or resources).

Ongoing Cancellation

Members may cancel at any time by notifying The Touring Network in writing (email or online form).

No refunds will be given for cancellation after the 14-day cooling-off period unless otherwise stated.

9. Termination of Membership
The Touring Network reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership with immediate effect if:

  • You breach these Terms and Conditions;
  • You engage in conduct that damages or risks damaging the reputation of The Touring Network;
  • You provide false or misleading information in your membership application or profile.Written notice of termination will be issued, and appeals may be made in writing within 14 days of notice.

10. Privacy and Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with relevant data protection laws. By joining, you consent to the use of your data as described in the policy. Please review the full policy here.

11. Changes to Terms
The Touring Network may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. Members will be notified of significant changes at least 30 days in advance.
