Chamber Notes: Scottish Ensemble with Matthew Hunt clarinet
28 August, 2018 @ 7:30 pm
£15Chamber Notes; Quintet with Matthew Hunt, clarinet Scottish Ensemble explore the clarinet quintet of Mozart and Brahms: Mozart Clarinet Quintet in A major; Brahms Clarinet Quintet in B minor; John Luther Adams The Wind In High Places (movement 4). Mozart and Brahms wrote just one clarinet quintet each, both in the final years of their lives. But it’s their inherent quality and charm, not only their solitary status, which has always made these quintets stand out amongst each composers repertoire. Scotland&’s leading string orchestra, The Scottish Ensemble, are an internationally renowned collective of outstanding musicians championing music for strings, inspired by crossing genres, styles, centuries and musical periods to create powerful new connections. Their performances are vibrant, dynamic and rewarding experiences. SEALL is delighted to welcome them back to Skye at this year’s Feis an Eilein when they will deliver concerts in Plockton and Sleat and an afternoon workshop in Sabhal Mor Ostaig.
