Come & experience the Jazzy Grooves & Lyrical Soundscapes of Perthshire’s new multi-talented band in their album launch night!
Helias is an exciting & diverse new band that crosses the boundaries of funky jazz, blues, lyrical melodies and wide open cinematic soundscapes, featuring original music by the group’s founder, Simon Jauncey. Helias is an ancient Scots name -their logo includes the outline of The Sleeping giant hills behind Comrie, where Simon spent his childhood!
The band draws on the talents of well-known Perth blues man Pete Caban, Pitlochry based sax & guitar player Leon Thorne of Stax of Motown and regular performer with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, bass master Ruairidh McClean from Dundee, drummer Doug Alec Rees and Simon himself on keyboards & guitar.
