Leighton Jones – All the Way Home

Leighton Jones, pianist and composer from Skye has been working on a project during the summer to bring together a group of young musicians from Skye to create a new CD. Tonight’s concert is the end result and is part of the Skye and Lochalsh Talent Development project managed by Atlas.
Prior to that Leighton is inviting traditional musicians living in Skye and Lochalsh aged 16-25 to participate in the recording and performances of his new EP.
There will be a series of workshop rehearsals and a 2-day recording session in the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig recording studio, after the concerts in SMO and Aros.
Travel expenses are provided but participation is voluntary and free of charge.
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, 12 noon to 5pm – rehearsals in SMO Studio
Friday 23 and Saturday 24 October afternoon and evening – rehersals and concert in SMO (Friday) with SEALL, and Aros (Saturday)
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, 12 noon to 5pm – Recording workshops in SMO Studio.
