With roots in the Great Lakes State of Michigan, Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys have been on the road almost non-stop all over the USA, since they hit the ground running in 2012.
There’s something for everyone in their live performances – real passionate affairs that stir the blood and exhilarate, from bluesy works of wonder to blistering bluegrass beauty, exploring and confidently conquering the various strands of the American roots scene.

Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys rest on the cusp of change in the Americana scene… on their latest album Ionia, there’s incredible kinetic motion in their music, a sense of movement so exacting and precise that it’s almost architectural – they rabbit playfully between off meters, rapid-fire picking, stop-and-go bass lines, and steamy vocals that surge back and forth.
While Lindsay Lou and husband Joshua Rilko, mandolinist and multi instrumentalist, are a perfect meant-to-be pairing, entertaining dobro maestro Mark Lavengood is a supercharged sidekick, and bassman PJ George (as well as being the band’s powerfully-impressive anchor), serves up honey-sweet vocal harmonies. Evident in their performances, they are all great friends both on and off the stage!
