Noura Mint Seymali

In partnership with Glasgow’s Counterflows Festival, we welcome Noura Mint Seymali and her band to the UK for the first time. All the way from the burning desert of her sub-Saharan home in Mauritanian, Noura Mint will enchant us with her exquisite voice and deeply hypnotic music accompanied by her husband’s mesmeric and rhythmic guitar lines and a gloriously funky rhythm section.

Born into a prominent line of beautiful Moorish griot music tradition, Noura began her career at age 13. Reared in a transitive culture where sounds from across the Sahara, the Magreb, and West Africa coalesce, Noura drives the

legacy forward as one of Mauritania’s most adventurous young artists.

This is a very special cultural journey and we’re delighted Noura can join us on Mull.
