Sirocco Winds play a selection of our favourite repertoire from a variety of styles, ranging from French classics to early folk songs to jazz and blues. The programme closes with a rarely performed quintet written by Scottish composer John Blackwood McEwen, and a stunning short piece by Peter Maxwell Davies as we say farewell. Sirocco Winds, made up of distinguished Masters graduates from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, are renowned for their captivating performances. Since their formation in 2012, they have achieved incredible milestones, including winning prestigious awards and being broadcasted live on Classic FM and BBC Radio 3. The group has a reputation for excellence, having entertained audiences at renowned festivals like the St Magnus International Festival and the Cumnock Tryst. They bring a unique blend of passion, skill, and showmanship that promises to create an unforgettable experience. Individually, members of the group have worked with orchestras and ensembles such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Opera North, the BBC Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.
