The Stu Brown Septet

2 November, 2014 @ 7:30 pm

£12

Back by popular demand with a brand new project, The Stu Brown Septet.

Drummer Stu Brown premiered a brand new set of music celebrating the work of the great cartoon composers of the 20th Century in Glasgow this Summer. Stu’s critically acclaimed sextet album, Twisted Toons – The Music of Raymond Scott, was one of Mojo Magazines top 10 jazz releases of 2009 and he now returns with scores by Carl Stalling (Looney Tunes), Scott Bradley (Tom & Jerry/Tex Avery), and Scott. Many tunes have never been performed live since they were originally recorded in the 40’s and 50’s, so this is a rare opportunity to experience it up close and in person in all its madcap glory.

Stu Brown – drums/percussion
Daniel Paterson – violin
Brian Molley – woodwinds
Martin Kershaw – woodwinds
Tom MacNiven – trumpet
Paul Harrison- piano/synth
Mario Caribe – bass

This is a joint FOTS record / SEALL production, following the remarkable success of the first Skye Swing Jazz Festival in 2013
