Join our board and connect rural communities to live performance

Become a board member and help shape our future
We’re currently seeking new board members who can lend us their voice, skills and passion to make a difference for rural venues and audiences in the Highland and Islands.
Being a trustee of The Touring Network means you get to:
- Shape our future – help guide decisions big and small.
- Use your skills for good – whatever you’re great at, it will make a difference.
- Learn and grow – gain experience of charity governance, strategy, and leadership. Great if you’re looking to develop your work experience
- Be part of something meaningful – join a friendly team all working for a shared cause.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to be an expert! We welcome people from all walks of life and all ages. We’d love to hear from you if you align with what we believe in and are:
- Happy to share your ideas and experience.
- Willing to learn about how charities are run.
- Able to give a little time (around five meetings a year, plus the odd chat or email in between).
If you have experience in fundraising, community work, digital, lived experience of the issue we support that’s brilliant, but it’s not essential.
We’re especially keen to hear from:
- any promoter members in our network
- young people aged 18–30 who have experience of living in the region we cover.
You don’t need previous board or charity experience (we would pair you with a mentor) but if you have lived experience of the issues we care about, or skills in areas listed above — that’s brilliant. But most importantly, we want you and your perspective.
Find out more and apply
If you’re interested:
- Read our information pack for full details of the role and how to apply.
- Come along to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 29 October 2025 in Oban. This is a great chance to get a feel for what we do, meet the team, and see the board in action before deciding if it’s for you.
Equal Opportunities
Interest is welcomed from all suitably skilled and experienced people, especially
those from groups with protected characteristics covered by the Equality Act 2010.
