Join our micro-network and access funding for remarkable performances

Apply to join our next micro-network programme
We’re asking members to apply to join the third round of our successful micro-network programme, helping you access funding to programme remarkable live performances in your community.
Why apply?
Our micro-network initiative provides funding and support for a group of promoters who will link together to bring high-quality acts to tour and perform in your local communities.
When venues operate as a micro-network, they help to ensure that:
- live performances are better routed and more sustainable
- arts venues and village halls can take risks and book performances they might not normally programme, because of increased efficiencies in resource use and expertise
- performers are encouraged to spend more time in each area, allowing for engagement with schools and community groups, further contributing to the local economy
The whole experience has been exceptional and helped our small venue and the volunteers who run it to build our skills and confidence in hosting a wider range of performances, learning alongside peer venues, and to form new friendships.
What’s involved?
You will work together with a group of promoters to programme a series of tours in your local communities. The tours will take place before March 2027.
There will be a mixed approach to programming to suit the promoters involved. This will be driven by the group’s aims and desires, and underpinned by our Programming Policy.
Funding will be offered to help pay performers fair fees and additional rural touring costs, as well as community engagement to help build audiences.
There will be approximately eight meetings to attend over the course of the project. Promoters’ time spent in meetings will be paid for if required.
Join a successful programming approach
The Touring Network has already funded and supported two successful micro-networks, in the Highland region and Argyllshire. Find out more about the Highland and Argyll micro-networks, and watch our short film highlighting some of the performers and promoters who took part in the Highland micro-network.
Apply now
To apply, please complete our application form by 17 November. Promoter members should apply individually. We will review all applications and create a group based on: programme preferences, experience levels, geographic position and how our funds can best support you.
We also welcome applications from promoters in our region (Highland, Argyll & Bute, Moray, Orkney, Shetland, Western Isles, Clyde Isles and Perthshire) that are not currently Touring Network members.
Any questions?
If you have any questions please get in touch with Fee Shaw, Network Development Manager: [email protected].
Being part of micro-network has meant that we can programme two amazing acts that we would not have otherwise been able to. Being part of a network of venues means that we have been able to offer a mini tour to artists, making it more desirable and more financially viable, while having less environmental impact.
