Alex McSherry

40 years as a professional actor, writer & director. 20 years as a degree level lecturer  teaching Film & TV production, screenwriting, producing skills and media law.

I specialise in one act, one hour long plays (solo or two actor) mainly covering Scottish history; events, characters and folklore. These plays are technically compact with little or no set, relying on good quality costume and props.

All of the plays available for performance have been researched thoroughly to ensure historical accuracy and one play in particular, ‘The Tanner’, has won a Scottish tourism performance Oscar and has received several five star reviews when produced at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. This performance played at the Hollywood Fringe in June 2022.
