Grace Stewart-Skinner

Music

Grace is a composer, performer and ethnologist belonging to the Black Isle
and is deeply rooted in the Scottish Traditional music. She is contributing to
the diversification of the scene through her experimental, yet tasteful
approach to composition and clàrsach technique.

The time has come for Grace Stewart-Skinner to take her award nominated
and critically acclaimed debut album on tour, following its sell-out launch in
May, 2025. Auchies Spikkin’ Auchie is a concept album effortlessly intertwining
recorded conversation with new compositions to create an ethnomusicological
postcard of Grace‘s wee home fishing village, Avoch.
Grace has created a truely imersive live show featuring recorded dialogue,
gorgeous visuals of Avoch, and performance from Grace on clàrsach, Rose
Logan on fiddles, Rhona MacDonald on double bass and Ewa Adamiec on
drum kit. By capturing Avoch’s unique dialect of Scots and local stories, it is an
innovative, moving, and beautiful celebration of linguistic and cultural heritage.
