Music

Jessica Kerr is a cellist with a nature connected creative practice. Happiest when sharing music amongst the trees and in other outdoor spaces, Jessica has a particular focus on working with communities, co-creating events that are inclusive and accessible to all, and drawing people out into nature by musical invitation.

Creator of Stories of People and Trees, Jessica is also cellist with Glisk, Kentigern Quartet, and a member of the GRIT Orchestra. She has been commissioned as composer and artist in residence by the Argyll Rainforest Community Network / Cove Park, to lead schools and community workshops and create new musical work in collaboration with rainforest communities in Scotland. In 2025 Jessica toured with Illuminate Womens Music, premiering a concert of new works composed for cello and voice, alongside soprano Stephanie Lamprea. Jessica performed as cellist in Small Acts of Love, the acclaimed production by Frances Poet and Ricky Ross that re-opened the Citizens Theatre, and was cellist for the Tandem Writing Collective 2023-4. As an orchestral cellist Jessica has performed with - amongst others - the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Jessica is a longstanding musician at Big Noise Govanhill.
