Dance
I am a choreographer, performer, and dance educator who has been dancing since the mid-1950s. I have dedicated my life to challenging the status quo. From coming out as a lesbian in 1974 in the USA, when it was still very unpopular, to restarting my dance career at 50 years old while inhabiting a non-traditional dancer’s body. Due to my own struggles and subsequent success, I aim to inspire others to break free from their limitations and pursue their dreams, just as I have.
Since 2010, I have been creating and performing my own choreography both locally and internationally, including in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, and at four Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in Scotland: 2014, 2017, 2022, and 2025. I have presented numerous world premieres of my solo work. I have been a dance therapist for over 30 years. Working with a diverse range of people, I have employed both complex and straightforward dance-movement styles for personal and interpersonal healing, as well as for pure enjoyment. I currently teach “Everybody Can Dance” workshops.
