Hunter & The Bear

Inspired by artists such as The Band, Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen, Will & Jimmy started to write and perform as a duo with Jimmy playing lead guitar, mandolin and backing vocal whilst beside him Will on the rhythm guitar and singing lead vocals. Having started the band in Newcastle where they were studying at University they moved to London in 2012 to bring their own brand of power folk to the huddled masses. Gareth Thompson, drums and Chris Clark, bass, completed the line up in 2014 to bring you a live set up you don’t want to miss.

2013 was a hectic year for Hunter & the Bear with notable performances at Hard Rock Calling, Troon and Cornbury Festival, supporting Twin Forks and Shovel & Rope, followed by two sold out headline shows at Islington Academy2 and The Borderline. The band recently played to 25,000 people as main support for the legendary Eric Clapton on his UK Tour 2014.

Hunter & The Bear were championed in Music Week as one of their unsigned bands of 2013, followed by support from Radio 2 who have tipped them as ‘One To Watch’ for 2014.

The bands debut EP “Dusty Road” is currently available on iTunes and was Produced by Jamie Bell (Metronomy, Richard Ashcroft and The Rifles). A powerful blend of folk, rock and country music culminating in strong vocal harmonies and soaring guitar parts brings you the signature sound of Hunter & The Bear.

Their highly anticipated second EP is due for release this summer these guys are the band to watch in 2014.
