Whisky Bard

Robin Laing is a musician and writer based in rural South Lanarkshire. These days he is mainly known as a songwriter and his songs, many of which have been taken up by other artists, are on a wide variety of subjects, from Ulysses to Clydesdale horses, from black coffee to love in the shower.
When not exploring the purely cultural aspects of whisky, Robin chairs the Tasting Panel of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and writes the tasting notes. It’s a difficult job, but someone has to do it! He has also now published three books; ‘The Whisky Muse’ – a collection of 95 whisky songs and poems, ‘The Whisky River’, which is a book about the distilleries of Speyside and ‘Whisky Legends of Islay’, a title which speaks for itself. Robin is firmly established as Scotland’s WHISKY BARD and an authority on the culture of whisky.
Robin tours extensively both nationally and internationally, promoting the culture (and the national drink) of Scotland
“Robin has the perfect voice for this project, as warm and smooth as the whisky he sings about” Dirty Linen Magazine
