Ruarri Joseph

9 April, 2015 @ 7:30 pm

£10

Ruarri Joseph returns to Scotland in 2015 with a new album. This will be Ruarri‘s fifth studio album to date.

Originally born and raised in Edinburgh, Ruarri Joseph found his songwriting roots in the southwestern Pacific. A move to New Zealand, and an 11-year-old Joseph found himself coming of age in Dannevirke (population 6,000), an isolated, rural farming community.

At 17 Joseph packed his suitcase, picked up his guitar and moved bcak to the UK, settling in London and, where he released his debut album ‘Tales of Grit and Grim’ through Atlantic Records. Shortly after he quit Atlantic in favour of independence and so in 2008, he formed his own label ‘Pip Productions’ through which all his subsequent LPs have been released.

Inspired by Bob Dylan, the singer song- writer’s work has also earned him favourable comparisons to the chart- topping savvy sounds of Damien Rice and David Gray.
